The body has a special system that helps get rid of extra stuff and keeps everything balanced and healthy. This is called the excretory system. It works quietly all the time to make sure our bodies stay just right.
Our kidneys are like tiny filters. They take out waste and extra water from our blood and make something called urine. The urine then goes into the urinary bladder, where it stays until we need to go. When we go to the bathroom, the urine leaves our bodies.
Our lungs also help the excretory system. When we breathe out, the lungs let go of gases, like carbon dioxide, that our bodies donβt need anymore.
The skin is another helper. Tiny parts called sweat glands make sweat. Sweat helps cool us down and also gets rid of a little bit of waste.
All these parts work together to keep us healthy. When they work well, our bodies stay balanced and strong. If something ever goes wrong, doctors can help make things better again.
