The Iberian Peninsula
The Iberian Peninsula is a big land in southwestern Europe. It is like a giant piece of land that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean and touches the Mediterranean Sea. Two big countries, Spain and Portugal, share most of this land. There are also tiny places like Andorra and Gibraltar here.
Where It Is
The Iberian Peninsula is separated from the rest of Europe by tall mountains called the Pyrenees. On one side, you have the Atlantic Ocean, and on the other, the Mediterranean Sea. It stretches from north to south and has many beautiful landscapes, from sandy beaches to tall mountains.
Why It’s Special
This land has a very long history. People have lived here for thousands of years! Many different cultures, like the Romans, have left their marks. Today, the peninsula is known for its rich cultures, tasty foods, and beautiful places. Big cities like Madrid, Barcelona, and Lisbon are very busy and full of life.
