Knights

Knights were special people who were given a title called knighthood. This happened as a reward for helping their country or the church. The idea of knighthood started a long time ago in Western Christian Europe.

Knights were often trained to ride horses and were known for being brave. They followed a set of rules called chivalry, which taught them to be honorable and kind. Boys from noble families started training when they were very young. They learned to ride, fight, and study. When they were older, they had a special ceremony to become knights.

Today, many countries still give out knighthood for great service. It is a sign of honor. The modern female version of a knight is called a dame.

The word "knight" comes from Old English and means "boy" or "servant." Over time, it came to mean someone who served on horseback.

Knights are remembered for their bravery and the stories written about them. They are a part of history that many people still admire.
