Los Angeles, often called LA, is a big, busy city in California. It is the second-biggest city in the United States, after New York City. Lots of people live here—about 3.9 million!

Los Angeles is a special place because it has many different kinds of people and cultures. Over 200 languages are spoken here! You can find neighborhoods like Chinatown, Koreatown, and Little Tokyo where people share their traditions and foods.

Fun Things About LA

Los Angeles is famous for its movies and television shows. Many famous film studios are here, and you might have heard of places like the Hollywood Sign. The city also has beautiful parks, beaches, and mountains nearby.

The city has hosted the Summer Olympic Games three times! That means lots of exciting sports events happen here. Popular sports teams include the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team and the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team.

Visiting Los Angeles

If you visit Los Angeles, you can explore many interesting places. The Griffith Observatory offers amazing views of the city and the stars. The Walt Disney Concert Hall is a beautiful building where you can enjoy music.

Getting Around

Los Angeles has many freeways, so cars are very common. But there are also buses and trains to help people move around. The Los Angeles Metro runs buses and light rail trains. The biggest train station, Union Station, is a cool place to see.

The main airport is Los Angeles International Airport, often called LAX. It is one of the busiest airports in the world, with many flights to and from other countries.
