About Russia
Russia, also called the Russian Federation, is the biggest country in the whole world! It covers parts of Europe and Asia. Imagine a country so large it has many different climates and lands, from icy tundra to sunny beaches.
Russia shares borders with many countries, like Norway, Finland, and China. Over 146 million people live here, making it one of the most populous nations.
Rich History
The story of Russia begins thousands of years ago with ancient people living along rivers and near lakes. Over time, many kingdoms and empires grew, such as the Kievan Rus' and the Russian Empire. In 1917, big changes happened, and later, Russia became part of the Soviet Union. In 1991, the Soviet Union ended, and Russia became its own country again.
