The Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a healthcare organization in England. It started in April 2001. It was formed by combining two older healthcare trusts: North East Lincolnshire NHS Trust and Scunthorpe and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust. This trust is very important because it helps take care of people in three main places: Grimsby, Scunthorpe, and Goole.
It runs three big hospitals. The Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital is in Grimsby. Scunthorpe General Hospital is in Scunthorpe, which is also in Lincolnshire. Goole and District Hospital is in the East Riding of Yorkshire. These hospitals provide many kinds of medical care to people living in and around these areas.
In 2001, the trust also worked together with the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust to create a special service called the Path Links Pathology Service. This helped improve how tests and examinations are done for patients. Later, in January 2016, the trust was one of five in England that were planning big changes to improve their services even more.
Performance
This trust was one of 11 to receive extra help after a review found more deaths than expected. It got support from the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and left the extra help list in July 2014.
In April 2016, Scunthorpe General Hospital was judged to need a lot of improvement by the Care Quality Commission. Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby was rated as needing some improvement, and Goole and District Hospital was rated as good. The trust had trouble keeping up with appointments and services, especially for eye care. Many appointments were cancelled after a computer problem in October 2016.
