AMBAO

AMBAO is a special label for chocolate that comes from the Belgian Ministry of Economic Affairs. This label shows that a chocolate product was made only with cocoa fats and has no other plant fats or artificial additives added.
The AMBAO label was created to help protect chocolate quality in response to rules set by the European Cocoa and Chocolate Directive. This rule allowed up to 5% of non-cocoa vegetable fats to be used in chocolate, which some people felt could change how chocolate tastes and feels. The AMBAO mark was made to make sure that chocolates with this label are made purely from cocoa fats, keeping them as natural and true to traditional chocolate as possible.
