The Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL) is a professional ice hockey league in Central Europe. Teams in the league are from four countries: Austria, Croatia, Italy, and Slovenia. The league started in 2016 when two other hockey leagues, the Serie A and the Inter-National League, joined together to make a new group. This league lets players compete against strong teams from different countries, making it an exciting part of hockey in Europe.
Formation
The Alps Hockey League started in spring 2016. It was created by the Austrian Ice Hockey Association, the Italian Ice Sports Federation, and the Ice Hockey Federation of Slovenia. These groups wanted the league to be good and affordable for many years. The league is also open to teams from other countries like the Czech Republic, Germany, and Slovakia.
Teams in the league can have up to four players born in other countries. The league uses a points system to help grow young talent from the countries involved.
Teams
In the 2025–26 season, the AlpsHL had 13 teams. Seven teams were from Italy, four were from Austria, and there was one team each from Croatia and Slovenia.
