Description

Asinus is a subgenus of Equus that includes several subspecies of the Equidae family. People often call them wild asses or wild donkeys. These animals have long ears and lean bodies. They are known for their toughness and endurance.

Species

The most famous member of this group is the common donkey. Some donkeys are kept as pets, and others live wild. There are also several wild ass species that have never been kept as pets. These wild asses live in Asia and Africa. There was once a wild ass species that lived in Europe, but it is no longer alive.

Taxonomy

The subgenus Asinus is part of the genus Equus. It includes several types of wild asses and donkeys. These animals have long ears and strong bodies.

Some of these species live in Africa and Asia. Others, like the European wild ass, are no longer alive today. The most common member of this group is the donkey. People often keep donkeys as pets or for work. Other wild asses, such as the onager and the kiang, still live in the wild in places like Mongolia and Tibet.
