Bermuda at the 2016 Summer Olympics

Adapted from Wikipedia · Adventurer experience

Bermuda competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5 to August 21, 2016. This was Bermuda's return to the Olympic Games since 1936. Bermudian athletes have been in every Summer Olympics except for the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, when Bermuda joined a US-led boycott.

The Bermuda Olympic Association sent eight athletes, four men and four women, to compete in five different sports. Two athletes, triathlete Flora Duffy and long jumper Tyrone Smith, were returning for their third Olympics. Tyrone Smith was chosen to carry Bermuda's flag during the opening ceremony. Bermuda returned to rowing for the first time since 1972 but did not send any equestrian athletes for the first time since 1976.

Bermuda did not win any medals at these Olympics. The last time Bermuda won a medal was at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, when Clarence Hill won bronze in men's heavyweight boxing. Flora Duffy came closest to adding another medal, finishing eighth in the women's triathlon. This was the best result for Bermuda at the 2016 Games.
