Bolivia at the Olympics

Bolivia first joined the Olympic Games in 1936 during the Summer Olympics and later in 1956 for the Winter Olympics. The Bolivian Olympic Committee, formed in 1932, helped the country take part in these important sports events. After its first appearance, Bolivia started joining the Summer Olympics regularly from 1964, except when many countries boycotted the 1980 Summer Olympics.

Even though Bolivia has been part of the Olympics for many years, the country has not yet won an Olympic medal. The closest Bolivia came to a top spot was in 1992 during the Summer Olympics, when the women's 4 × 400 m relay team in Athletics came in fourteenth place. Another close moment happened in 2016 at the Summer Olympics. Ángela Castro, competing in the Women's 20 km Walk, finished eighteenth.
