Brigach

The Brigach is one of the two small rivers that come together to form the Danube. It starts in the Black Forest near the town of St. Georgen in Germany.
The Brigach flows through the city of Villingen-Schwenningen. After traveling about 40 kilometers, or 25 miles, it meets another river called the Breg in the town of Donaueschingen. Together, these two rivers form the beginning of the Danube River.
Name
The name Brigach comes from ancient Celtic people and means "light coloured, pure water." An old statue found here shows a goddess named Abnoba.
Geography
The Brigach is one of the two small rivers that join to form the Danube River in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It starts at an elevation of 925 meters, or 3,035 feet, above sea level in a place called St. Georgen in the Black Forest.
