Canada joined the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. This was a large event where athletes from many countries competed in many sports.

Bill Crothers won a silver medal in the 800 metres. Other athletes like Don Bertoia, Ergas Leps, Bruce Kidd, Cliff Nuttall, Bill Gairdner, Alexander Oakley, and Gerry Moro also competed for Canada.
