Chance Rides is an American company that builds roller coasters and other fun rides for amusement parks. It started in 1961, and the company we know today was officially formed on May 16, 2002. The main office and factory are in Wichita, Kansas. Chance Rides has created many exciting rides that people all over the world enjoy. Their roller coasters and other rides bring joy and adventure to millions of visitors each year.

History

Chance Manufacturing started in 1961 when Richard H. Chance made small trains for fun. He built a famous tiny train called the C. P. Huntington, which many people liked. Over time, the company grew and made many different rides for families.

Later, the company changed its name and added new brands. In 2011, it brought back the Chance Rides name for its roller coasters and other rides. In 2023, the company was sold to a new group of owners.

Products

Chance Rides makes fun rides for parks and carnivals. They began making small train locomotives called C. P. Huntington in 1961. These trains can run on different fuels and have parts that look like real engine parts.

The company also makes beautiful carousels. They started making them in 1971 and have created over 300 of these rides. All the animals on their carousels are made from strong fiberglass material.

Chance Rides is well-known for its large Ferris wheels too. Their first wheel, called the Astro Wheel, debuted in 1967. Since then, they’ve built many bigger wheels, some over 250 feet tall! These larger wheels are called observation wheels because riders sit inside closed cars instead of open seats.

The company also builds roller coasters. Their first was a small, portable coaster called the Toboggan, invented by Walter House. Chance started making these in 1969. Later, they added children’s coasters and, after joining with another company in 2001, began making many different kinds of coasters. As of 2023, they have built 44 roller coasters around the world.
