Czechoslovakia men's national volleyball team

The Czechoslovakia national men's volleyball team was the team that played for Czechoslovakia in international volleyball from 1948 to 1993. It was one of the best teams in the world during that time.
The team won its first gold medal at the European Championship in 1948. It later won two more European Championships in 1955 and 1958. The team also won gold at the World Championships in 1956 and 1966. It earned eight more medals in other big tournaments.
At the Olympic Games, the team won silver in Tokyo 1964 and bronze in Mexico City. Today, FIVB says the Czech Republic team carries on the Czechoslovakia team's records from 1948 to 1993.
Results
The Czechoslovakia men's national volleyball team played in many big tournaments from 1948 to 1993. They won medals in the Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cups, and European Championships.
In the Olympic Games, they got a silver medal in 1964 in Japan and a bronze medal in 1968 in Mexico. They also finished 6th in 1972 in West Germany, 5th in 1976 in Canada, and 8th in 1980 in the Soviet Union.
At the World Championship, they won gold medals in 1956 in France and 1966 in Czechoslovakia. They also got silver medals in 1949, 1952, 1960, and 1962.
In the World Cup, they won bronze medals in 1965 in Poland and 1985 in Japan, and placed 5th in 1969 in East Germany.
For the European Championship, they won gold medals in 1948 in Italy, 1955 in Romania, and 1958 in Czechoslovakia. They also got silver medals in 1950, 1967, 1971, and 1985.
