Finnish hip-hop, also called rap, is a type of music from Finland. It is part of the larger hip-hop style, but special because the words, called rapping, are mostly in Finnish. Many rappers use words from Helsinki slang and other Finnish dialects to make their music more interesting.

In the early 1980s, some Finnish rap songs were made, but they didn’t become very popular until the 2000s. The first Finnish rap song was "I'm Young, Beautiful and Natural" in English, made by an artist named General Njassa in 1983. In 1990, groups like Raptori and artists like Nikke T made rap music in Finnish that became very popular in Finland. Their style was different from American rap because it was influenced by dance-pop music from the 1980s and was often funny.
