Hoekaspis

Hoekaspis was an extinct small sea creature called a trilobite. Trilobites were special because they had hard shells and their bodies had three parts, like a suit with three pieces. Hoekaspis was part of the Asaphidae family of trilobites.

It lived a very long time ago, during the early part of the Arenig stage in the Ordovician period. This was a time when many new sea creatures were starting to appear in the oceans. The Arenig stage lasted from about 466 to 461 million years ago, so Hoekaspis was one of the first creatures in Earth’s ancient seas.

Distribution

Fossils of Hoekaspis have been found in France, Morocco, Bolivia, and Argentina.
