Latin American Canadians

Latin American Canadians are people in Canada whose families come from Latin America. Many of them speak several languages, like Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English. They often know both of Canada’s main languages, English and French, very well.
People from Latin America have done important work in many areas in Canada. They have helped in government, music, sports, business, and many other fields.
The biggest groups come from Mexico, Colombia, and El Salvador. Most live in Ontario and Quebec. Toronto has the most Latin Americans, with many also in cities like Mississauga, Brampton, London, Ottawa, and Montreal.
According to the 2021 Canadian Census, many Canadians have Latin American or Hispanic roots. Latin Americans in Canada come from many different backgrounds.
History
Most Latin American Canadians came to Canada in the late 1900s. They are from many countries, including Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, and Peru, as well as smaller groups from Chile, Venezuela, Brazil, Cuba, Guatemala, and other places. People moved to Canada for better jobs and lives. Some also left their homes because of difficult situations in their own countries.
Demographics
As of the 2021 Canadian Census, many people in Canada come from Latin American countries. The biggest groups live in big cities like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. These communities are growing quickly in places such as Alberta, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia.
