Participation
Latvia took part in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from 6 to 22 February 2026. This was Latvia's thirteenth time in the Winter Olympics. Latvia first joined in 1924 at Chamonix. They could not join in 1932 because of the Great Depression but came back for every game until World War II. After the war, Latvia was under Soviet control. From 1956 to 1988, Latvian athletes were part of the Soviet teams. When the USSR ended in 1991, Latvia became independent again and has been competing on its own since the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville.
Flag bearers
Kaspars Daugaviņš and Dženifera Ģērmane carried Latvia's flag during the opening ceremony. Roberts Kruzbergs and Patrīcija Eiduka carried the flag during the closing ceremony.
