Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame

The Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame was created on November 3, 1964, by John E. Ahern. It is a special place to honor the best athletes, teams, and people who helped sports in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. This important hall is found at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax, the capital city of Nova Scotia. It shows how much the people of Nova Scotia care about sports and remembers those who made big achievements in them.

Early history

John E. Ahern got money to start the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame. He made a group to choose the first people to honor. Some of the first people were famous sports stars like Aileen Meagher, Johnny Miles, Sam Langford, and George Dixon. The old Mayor of Halifax loved sports and had many sports items and pictures. He gave them all to the Hall of Fame. This was the biggest gift the Hall has ever gotten.
