Paraguay at the Olympics

Paraguay first joined the Olympic Games in 1968, which took place in Mexico City, Mexico. Since then, Paraguayan athletes have been in every Summer Olympic Games, except for the 1980 Games in Moscow, which they chose not to attend.

For the first time, Paraguay also joined the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, in 2014.

So far, Paraguay has won only one Olympic medal—a silver medal in men’s football at the 2004 Games in Athens. In that final match, they lost to Argentina.
