Pineto Regional Park

Pineto Regional Park is a special natural area in the country of Italy. It was created in 1987 to protect the land, plants, and animals there. The park covers about 240 hectares and is near the city of Rome, in a part called Municipio XIX. It is shared between the districts of Aurelio, Primavalle, and Trionfale.

The park is shaped like a valley. It was once called the “Valley of Hell” because of old furnaces and limestone used to build St. Peter’s Basilica near the Vatican. Today, the park has many types of trees, including cork oak, maple, and birch. Wild animals such as dormice and water-snakes live there. The park shows signs of an older ecological structure, making it an interesting place to explore nature.
