Ponzo illusion
Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Adventurer experience
The Ponzo illusion is a trick that plays with our eyes and mind. It was named after an Italian psychologist named Mario Ponzo. In this illusion, two lines that are the same length look different because they are placed on lines that come together like the sides of an A or railway tracks.
When you look at the two lines, the one that seems farther away looks longer than the one that seems closer, even though they are the same size. This happens because our brains try to understand depth and distance in pictures. The lines that come together make us think of things far away, like looking down a long road.
Scientists have studied this illusion to learn more about how our eyes and brain work together. They have found that not everyone sees the illusion the same way. This shows how our experiences can change the way we see the world.
