Premier of Nova Scotia

The premier of Nova Scotia is the main leader of the government in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. This leader works with the lieutenant governor and leads the group that helps run the province, called the Executive Council of Nova Scotia. The premier is usually the leader of the political party that wins the most seats in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly.

Right now, the premier of Nova Scotia is Tim Houston. He began his role on August 31, 2021. He leads the Progressive Conservative Association of Nova Scotia, which was elected in August 2021. As premier, he helps make important decisions for the province.

Responsibilities

The premier is the leader of the government in Nova Scotia. They are the president of the Executive Council, also called the Cabinet. The premier picks the other members of the Cabinet, and the lieutenant governor appoints them. The premier helps form the government and leads the decisions of the Executive Council.
