Sudan at the 2016 Summer Olympics

Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Adventurer experience

Sudan competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was Sudan's eleventh time taking part in the Summer Olympics.

The Sudan Olympic Committee chose six athletes to compete โ€” four men and two women. They took part in three sports: athletics, swimming, and judo. This was the same number of athletes as in London 2012. All of them were new to the Olympics, except for middle-distance runner Amina Bakhit. The steeplechase runner Abdalla Targan was the team's captain and carried Sudan's flag during the opening ceremony.

Sadly, Sudan did not win any medals at the 2016 Olympics. This was different from the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where Ismail Ahmed Ismail won a silver medal. That was the last time Sudan had won a medal at the Summer Olympics.
