Television in Moldova

Television in Moldova started in 1958. It has helped people get news and enjoy entertainment.

In 2022, new rules were made. Some television and radio programs were no longer allowed. These were programs that talked about military or political issues. The programs came from countries that did not follow a special European rule about television.

Today, Moldova has many television channels. People can watch news, shows, and other programs in their homes.

National

Moldova has two main television channels that the government owns. The first is called Moldova 1, and the second is called Moldova 2.

In a region called Transnistria, there is a special channel named Transnistria 1. This channel shows shows in three languages: Russian, Ukrainian, and Moldovan, using the Cyrillic alphabet.

Regional

Local

Some local TV channels in Moldova show shows from bigger stations. For example, Albasat TV in Nisporeni shows shows from Jurnal TV, and Euronova TV in Ungheni also shows shows from Jurnal TV.

Cable and digital terrestrial channels

Moldova has many popular television channels. Some of these channels are Alt TV, Jurnal TV, and Noroc TV. These channels show news and entertainment to people all over the country.

Defunct

Some television channels in Moldova are no longer broadcasting. These include Muz-TV Moldova and TV Moldova Internațional. Other channels like Prime, Canal 3, Publika TV, ITV Moldova, Orhei TV, Orizont TV, First in Moldova, RTR Moldova, NTV Moldova, RU TV Moldova, and TV6 are also not on air anymore.
