History
The Toronto Granites were formed in the 1880s. They were the first organized ice hockey team in Toronto. They started as part of the Toronto Granite Curling Club, which is still around today as The Granite Club. At first, they played only exhibition games against teams from places like Ottawa or Montreal, or against local teams from the Caledonian Rink. In the 1890โ91 season, they joined the Ontario Hockey Association and played there until 1924. They won the J. Ross Robertson Cup in 1920, 1922, and 1923. They also became Canadian champions by winning the 1922 Allan Cup and 1923 Allan Cup.
