Zuzana Paulová
Zuzana Paulová (born 28 January 1993 as Zuzana Hájková) is a Czech curler. She started her sport and has played for her country in many competitions.
For those who might be interested, there is another Czech athlete with a similar name, an Olympic basketball player also named Zuzana Hájková (basketball). Paulová’s hard work has made her well-known in the sport.
Curling career
Zuzana Paulová started curling when she was young. She played for the Czech Republic in four World Junior Curling Championships. Her first time was in 2010, where she played as the lead for Anna Kubešková’s team and came in 8th place. She played again in 2012, leading a team with Iveta Janatová, Klára Svatoňová, and Eva Málková. They won a bronze medal after losing the final to Scotland. Paulová kept playing in the World Juniors, finishing fourth in 2013 and seventh in 2013.
Paulová also played for the Czech team at the European Curling Championships two times, as the team's alternate. She played in three games in 2008 and seven games in 2014, with the team finishing 10th both times.
She also plays mixed doubles curling. Paulová has competed in five World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships with her partner Tomáš Paul. They won a bronze medal in 2013, came 7th in 2014, and 4th in 2017. In 2021, they helped the Czech Republic qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing 2022 for the first time in Czech curling history by winning an Olympic Qualification Game against the USA.
