Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) is one of the biggest and most important technical universities in Belarus. It helps students learn many kinds of skills and knowledge that are useful for building, engineering, and technology jobs. Many people from Belarus and other countries come to BNTU to study and get ready for careers that help improve their world. The university has been a center for learning and research for many years, making it a key place for education in the country.

History

Belarusian National Technical University began in 1920 as the Belarusian State Polytechnic Institute, growing from a school in Minsk. Over the years, it changed names and added new areas of study. By 1997, it was recognized as a top engineering school in the Belarusian educational system, and in 2002, it became the Belarusian National Technical University.

Faculties

Belarusian National Technical University has many different schools, called faculties, where students can learn many useful skills. Some of these schools include Automotive and Tractor, Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Power Engineering. Others focus on topics like Information Technologies, Management, and even Sports and Technical studies. There is also a special branch in Soligorsk and an International Institute for Distance Education, making it easy for students from many places to study.

Belarusian National Technical University has trained many important leaders. Some well-known graduates include Vyacheslav Kebich, who served as Prime Minister of Belarus from 1991 to 1994, Gennady Novitsky, who was Prime Minister from 2001 to 2003, and Gennadi Gagulia, who held the position of Prime Minister of Abkhazia during several periods between 1995 and 2018.
