Dreamchaser World Tour

Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience

The Dreamchaser World Tour was the fifth worldwide concert tour by English soprano singer Sarah Brightman in support of her album Dreamchaser (2013). Originally planned to start in early 2013, the North American dates were moved to later in the year. This tour was meant to be Brightman's last before a planned trip into space, but that space trip was cancelled for personal reasons.

In 2013, Brightman performed 86 shows across North America over seven months. This was her longest tour since the Harem World Tour in 2004 and included many dates in Asia and South America. She also performed in new countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

In April 2014, plans for more North American shows were announced for the summer. However, Brightman had to cancel these dates in June after hurting her ankle. The tour continued again in November 2014 and finished a month later.

Production

Sarah Brightman planned for her tour to be simpler than before. Instead of a large orchestra, she had just four musicians: a guitarist, a pianist, a drummer, and a keyboard player. She also had only two dancers instead of many.

The stage had a big screen showing 3D pictures and videos of space, light, and nature. There was a platform that rose up in the middle of the stage, which Brightman used in some parts of the show. She sang with Erkan Aki, a Swiss tenor, for two songs: "Canto della Terra" and "The Phantom of The Opera". Brightman changed clothes ten times during the performance. The show lasted two hours with a twenty-minute break. She sang nineteen songs, including popular ones and new tracks from her Dreamchaser album. Because the concert was about space, she also sang songs from her 2000 album La Luna, which is also space-themed.
