The Florida Strawberry Festival is a big, happy event that happens every year in Plant City, Florida. It lasts for 11 days and brings together about half a million people from all over central Florida and other places. This festival is one of the top 40 fairs in all of North America.

Festival stadium for music performances

During the festival, there are many fun things to see and do. You can find lots of crafts and items for sale, just like at a flea market. There are also free shows and events, a fun carnival area, and music concerts that happen twice every day. It's a wonderful time for families to enjoy together.

History

The Florida Strawberry Festival began in 1930 when the Plant City Lions Club wanted to promote the local strawberry crop. The first festival was held that same year. It happened every year for 11 years until World War II stopped it from 1941 to 1947. Thanks to the American Legion Post #26, the festival started again in 1948.
