Guam at the Olympics

Guam has been part of the Summer Olympic Games ten times. In 1988, Guam joined the Winter Olympic Games just once, with Judd Bankert becoming the island's first Olympic athlete in the biathlon event. Two Guam athletes have stood out by moving past the first round of competition: canoeist Sean Pangelinan and judoka Ricardo Blas Jr. During the 2008 Games in Beijing, Pangelinan reached the C-1 500m semi-finals, and Blas Jr made it to the Round of 16 in the 100 kg+ Judo competition at London 2012.
