Henry Cabourn Pocklington was an English physicist and mathematician, born on 28 January 1870 in Exeter and passing away on 15 May 1952 in Leeds. Though he worked mainly as a schoolmaster, he made significant contributions to mathematics and physics.

In 1914, Pocklington discovered something called Pocklington's primality test, which helps mathematicians determine if certain large numbers are prime numbers. He also created Pocklington's algorithm, another important tool in number theory.

Besides his work in numbers, Pocklington was the first person to develop an equation that describes the flow of electric current in a wire antenna. This equation, known as Pocklington's integral equation, became very useful in the study and design of antennas.
