Jupiter LXXII, originally called S/2011 J 1, is a natural satellite of the giant planet Jupiter. It was found by a scientist named Scott Sheppard in 2011. This small moon is part of a group of objects called the Carme group, which share similar paths around Jupiter.

After it was first discovered, Jupiter LXXII was hard to find again. For many years, people thought they had lost track of it. But then, in September 2018, astronomers announced that they had successfully found it again. This rediscovery helped scientists learn more about the many moons that orbit our solar system's largest planet.
