List of self-intersecting polygons

Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Discoverer experience

Self-intersecting polygons, also called crossed polygons, are special shapes where some of the sides cross each other. This makes them different from simple polygons, where the sides never cross. These shapes are interesting because they challenge our usual ideas about polygons.

One type of self-intersecting polygon is the crossed quadrilateral, which has four sides. A special kind of crossed quadrilateral is the antiparallelogram, where opposite sides are the same length. An even more special shape is the crossed rectangle, which is made from the sides and diagonals of a rectangle.

Star polygons are another group of self-intersecting polygons. They include shapes like the pentagram with five points, the hexagram with six points, and many others that go up to shapes with twenty-four points or more. These star shapes appear in art, nature, and many different areas of design.
