List of universities in Jordan

Jordan is a country in the Middle East with many places where people can go to learn and get degrees. These places are called universities. In Jordan, there are both public universities, which are supported by the government, and private universities, which are run by other groups. The universities are found in different parts of the country, called governorates.

Some of the main cities with universities include Amman, Irbid, and Aqaba. There are also many smaller towns with their own learning centers. Besides these universities, Jordan also has 50 community colleges, where people can take shorter courses and learn new skills.

Governorates

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is divided into twelve governorates (muhafazah). These governorates include Ajloun, Amman, Aqaba, Balqa, Irbid, Jerash, Kerak, Ma'an, Madaba, Mafraq, Tafilah, and Zarqa.
