Marco Galiazzo

Marco Galiazzo, born on 7 May 1983 in Padua, is an Italian archer. He competes for C.S. Aeronautica Militare and has achieved great success in his sport. At one point, he was ranked as the former world number one in archery.
Galiazzo made history by becoming the first Olympic champion for Italy in archery. He won a gold medal in the men's individual event at the Olympic Games โ Athens 2004. His achievements continued when he helped the Italian team win gold at the Olympic Games โ London 2012.
He also earned a silver medal in the team event at the Olympic Games โ Beijing 2008, showing his skill and consistency over many years. His accomplishments have inspired many young athletes in archery.
Career
Marco Galiazzo began archery at thirteen with his father, who became his coach. At fourteen, he won his first competition at the Italian Youth Games. By sixteen, he joined the Italian national archery team.
In 2004, at the Athens Olympic Games, he won the gold medal in the men's individual event, defeating Hiroshi Yamamoto in the final. Later, in 2012, he helped the Italian team win another gold medal at the Olympic Games in London, this time in the team competition with teammates Michele Frangilli and Mauro Nespoli.
2004 Summer Olympics
Marco Galiazzo competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's individual archery. He won several matches and reached the final, where he defeated Hiroshi Yamamoto of Japan to win the gold medal. He was also part of the Italian men's archery team that finished in 7th place.
