Mikkel Munch Krause was born on October 2, 1988, and he is a Danish curler from Hvidovre. Curling is a sport where players slide stones on ice toward a target area. Mikkel has helped his team win important matches and has brought honor to Denmark in international competitions. He was once a World Junior champion, meaning he won a big tournament for younger athletes before becoming a professional. His skills and teamwork have made him a well-known figure in the world of curling.
Curling career
Mikkel Krause began his curling journey as a junior, playing for Denmark in seven World Junior Curling Championships. His first championship was in 2004, where his team finished last. Over the years, the team improved, and in 2009, they won the gold medal after a strong performance in the playoffs. In his final junior year in 2010, he led the team but they finished eighth.
Krause joined the Danish men's team in 2010, playing third and helping the team win a silver medal at the European Curling Championships. Later, he skipped the Danish team at the 2018 European Championship C Division, leading them to victory and securing a spot in the main tournament. In 2019, he again skipped the team at the European Championships. Krause also played in his first World Men's Curling Championships in 2021. Additionally, he participated in the 2014 European Mixed Curling Championship as part of a winning group before losing in the quarterfinals.
Personal life
Mikkel Krause works as a forwarder or courier. He is the son of Malene Krause, who competed in the Winter Olympics four times and won bronze medals three times at the world championships, and Gert Larsen, a ten-time Danish men's champion who also competed in the Winter Olympics.
