Palestine has sent athletes to compete at every Summer Olympic Games since its debut in 1996. The nation has never participated in the Winter Olympic Games, and no Palestinian athletes have ever won an Olympic medal.
Palestine became a member of the Olympic Council of Asia in 1986, and it joined the International Olympic Committee in 1995. This means that Palestinian athletes have been officially recognized and allowed to compete on the world stage for many years.
