At the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, Romania sent 28 athletes to compete. The games took place from February 6 to February 22, 2026. This was a special moment for Romania because one of their teams achieved a very strong result. The 2-men bobsleigh team finished in 5th place, which was Romania's best performance at the Winter Olympics since 1992.
Mihai Tentea and Julia Sauter had the honor of carrying Romania’s flag during the opening ceremony. Julia Sauter also carried the flag again during the closing ceremony, showing her important role in the team. These athletes represented Romania with pride as they started the competition in Italy.
