Shark Island (Cronulla Beach)

Shark Island is a dangerous reef break located about 100 metres off the coast of Cronulla, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is made up of a rock ledge that you can see when the tide is low.
Many people love to bodyboard and surf at Shark Island. The waves there can get very big and strong very quickly, which makes it quite tricky and risky. Bodyboarders think this place has one of the most powerful waves in the whole world.
Every year, there is a big bodyboarding contest called the Shark Island Challenge at this spot. There is also a swimming event called the Shark Island Swim Challenge that takes place at Cronulla Beach.
