South Korea at the 2026 Winter Olympics

South Korea took part in the 2026 Winter Olympics held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from February 6 to February 22, 2026. The games brought together athletes from many countries to compete in winter sports like skating, skiing, and snowboarding.

During the opening ceremony, Cha Jun-hwan and Park Ji-woo had the honor of carrying the South Korean flag. Later, at the closing ceremony, Hwang Dae-heon and Choi Min-jeong carried the flag for their country. These ceremonies are special events where each country shows its pride and welcomes the world to the games.

Cross-country skiing

South Korea had athletes competing in cross-country skiing at the 2026 Winter Olympics. They qualified one male and one female skier at first, and later got another female skier after finishing events in the 2024–25 FIS Cross-Country World Cup.

South Korea earned spots in several figure skating events for the 2026 Winter Olympics. They qualified one spot in men's singles, two spots in women's singles, and one spot in ice dance during the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships in Boston, United States. They also got a spot in men's singles at the ISU Skate to Milano Figure Skating Qualifier 2025 in Beijing, China. South Korea also qualified for the team event.

Disqualifications

Two South Korean skiers, Han Dasom and Lee Eui-jin, were not allowed to race in the Women's 50 kilometre classical race. This happened because they were accused of using a special kind of wax on their skis that is not permitted. South Korea said the accusations were not true.
