Afro-Eurasia
Afro-Eurasia is a very big land area made up of three continents: Africa, Asia, and Europe. It is sometimes called a supercontinent because all these lands are connected together. People also call it the "Old World" to tell it apart from the "New World", which includes the Americas.
Afro-Eurasia is huge! It covers about 57% of all the land on Earth. Many people live there, and it is the biggest and most crowded land area in the world. Together with mainland Australia, it makes up most of the land in the Eastern Hemisphere.
The lands of Afro-Eurasia have moved and joined together over millions of years. For example, the Indian plate moved into Asia, forming beautiful mountain ranges like the Himalayas. Today, the Eurasian plate and the African plate help shape these continents.
Some fun facts about Afro-Eurasia:
- The highest place is Mount Everest on the border of China and Nepal.
- The lowest place on land is the shore of the Dead Sea between Israel, the West Bank, and Jordan.
Afro-Eurasia is a wonderful place full of different cultures, animals, and amazing landscapes!
