How Does Aloe Vera Look?
Aloe vera is a short plant that can grow up to about 60 to 100 centimetres tall. Its leaves are thick and meaty, usually green or grey-green, and have small white teeth along the edges. In summer, it makes pretty yellow flowers on a tall stem.

The leaves of Aloe vera hold a clear gel that is very good for the skin. People put this gel on small burns, scratches, and insect bites to help them feel better. You can find this gel in many skin lotions and cosmetics. Aloe vera is also used in foods and drinks, but it is important to use only a little bit.
Where Does Aloe Vera Grow?
Aloe vera comes from the south-east part of the Arabian Peninsula, but now it grows in many warm, dry places. You can find it in North Africa, the Canary Islands, and even in gardens in Europe. This plant likes sunshine and does not need a lot of water, making it great for pots and decorations.
