Android Automotive
Android Automotive is a special kind of operating system made just for cars. It was created by Google and Intel in March 2017. This system is based on Android, the same one you might use on a tablet or phone. Car companies can use it to make their own systems for car dashboards.
With Android Automotive, cars can play music, show maps, and even help control things inside the car, like the air conditioning. Unlike Android Auto, which needs a smartphone, Android Automotive works directly on the car's hardware. This makes it easier for everyone inside the car to use.
Many car companies use Android Automotive in their vehicles. Some of these companies include Volvo, Renault, Ford, and General Motors. These cars often come with extra Google services like Google Maps and Google Assistant, making the car's system more powerful and easy to use.
Android Automotive was first announced in March 2017. The Polestar 2 was the first car to have this system built-in, and it became available in July 2020. Since then, many other car brands have chosen to use Android Automotive in their cars. This helps make driving more fun and convenient for everyone.
