Asunción is the capital city of Paraguay. It is a busy and important place for the country. People often call it "the Mother of Cities" because it is one of the oldest cities in South America.

Asunción is located on the eastern side of the Paraguay River, near where the Pilcomayo River flows into it. The city has about 462,000 people, and when you count the people who live close by, the greater Asunción area has more than 2 million people. It is the busiest and most important part of Paraguay for money and work.

Asunción is a key place for government, culture, and business in Paraguay. It has the country’s main banks, factories, and cultural events. The city is also known for its beautiful old buildings and green spaces. You can visit many interesting places like museums, theaters, and parks. Some popular spots include the National Pantheon of the Heroes, the Palacio de los López, and the Botanical Garden and Zoo of Asunción.

Asunción has many things to offer visitors. You can explore old paintings at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes or learn about important people at the National Pantheon of the Heroes. The city’s hotels and guest houses are getting better, making travel easier and more comfortable for everyone.

Asunción is also home to many famous football clubs like Olimpia, Cerro Porteño, and Club Libertad. The biggest football stadium in Paraguay is Defensores del Chaco, located in the Sajonia neighborhood. It’s a fun place to watch games and sometimes even big concerts!
