Attila
Attila was a famous leader of the Huns. He led his people from 434 until he passed away in 453. The Huns were a group of people who moved around a lot and were good at riding horses. Attila grew up in a very important Hunnic family. His uncle Rugila was the first big leader of the Huns, and when he passed away, Attila and his brother Bleda took over together.
Attila’s name means “little father” in some old languages. Many stories and songs were told about him after he passed away. People in different countries still use the name Attila today, and there are even streets named after him in Budapest.
Attila is remembered because he led his people during a time when many other groups were also moving and changing places. His story is part of many old tales and legends in Hungary and other places. Even though his life had some sad moments, Attila is most known for being a strong and clever leader of his time.
