Barnard College

Barnard College is a special school for girls and women in New York City. It is one of the Seven Sisters, a group of colleges that were made just for women. The school was started in 1889 by a brave woman named Annie Nathan Meyer. They wanted a place where women could learn just like men.

The college is named after Frederick A. P. Barnard, a kind leader who believed boys and girls should study together. Even though he could not make it happen at first, his idea helped start Barnard College. The school is in a pretty area called Morningside Heights in Upper Manhattan.

Students at Barnard can study many things, like science, art, and history. They can also take classes at Columbia University, the Juilliard School, and other schools nearby. This helps them learn even more.

Many famous people went to Barnard College. They are leaders in different jobs, like acting, writing, and science. The school is proud of all the smart and creative women who studied there.
