Welcome to Bellevue
Bellevue is a lovely city in King County, Washington. It sits right across Lake Washington from Seattle and is part of the big Seattle metropolitan area. People often call it the "belle vue" city because its name comes from French words meaning "beautiful view"!
Bellevue is a special place for many reasons. It is home to big technology companies like Amazon and T-Mobile US. The city has many tall buildings and busy areas, especially in Downtown Bellevue. It is a great spot for people to live, work, and enjoy fun activities.
A Growing City
Bellevue has grown a lot over the years. It started as a small village called Satskal by the Duwamish people. European settlers arrived in 1869, and by 1882, loggers had settled there. After a bridge was built in 1940, the city began to grow fast. Today, Bellevue is a busy city with many tall buildings and new neighborhoods like the Spring District.
Beautiful Nature
Bellevue is surrounded by beautiful nature. To the west is Lake Washington, and to the east is Lake Sammamish. The city has many parks and green spaces, like the Bellevue Botanical Garden. On clear days, you can see the Olympic Mountains and Cascade Mountains from here.
Fun Places to Visit
Bellevue has many fun places to explore. The Bellevue Arts Museum shows wonderful artworks, and the Bellevue Botanical Garden is perfect for a peaceful walk. Every July, the city hosts the Bellevue Arts and Crafts Fair, and every two years, there is a big sculpture exhibition in Downtown Park. Families love the Seattle Redhawks baseball games at Bannerwood Park.
