What Is Boiling?

Boiling is when a liquid turns quickly into a gas or vapor. This happens when the liquid gets very hot, reaching its boiling point. Imagine heating water in a pot until it starts to bubble and steam up. That’s boiling!

How Does Boiling Work?

There are two main ways boiling can happen. In nucleate boiling, small bubbles form on the hot surface, like the bottom of a kettle. When the surface gets too hot, we call it critical heat flux boiling, where a thin layer of vapor covers the surface.
